Having fair skin, but working at a tanning salon...?

I'm a college student, and I'm transferring to a new college in a new town, all that good stuff!


So, I'm looking for a new job before I make the big move. I would love to work at a beauty supply or salon, but I don't know if you HAVE to be tan to work at a tanning salon. I have no interest in tanning, but it seems like a decent job that may pay better than a retail store.


Any thoughts?

they might pick people who are tan (which makes sense, seeing as thats their product!) i dont see the problem with a fair person working at one, but its all about appearances. when i was looking for a job 6 months ago, i almost applied for a similiar job but backed out. if im not for it, how can i preach about it? im the opposite, id be sneaking the custoers sunblock! why not a hair salon? you might have to dress nice but it beats skin cancer!
