Can I use self-tanning lotion while pregnant?

I asked my doctor and she told me not to use it because it COULD, but probably won't, put harmful chemicals into my body, and she said it's bad for me to breath in. BUT my cousin is also pregnant, and her doctor told her it would be perfectly fine, but just wear a mask over her face while applying. I feel so pale and gross, so would jergens self tanner be ok to use? It sucks that I can't use the tanning bed anymore, but whatever...I need some color! Is there any chance that the baby could be harmed? b/c if there is then I won't use it. I am 3 1/2 months BTW.

You can... I even went to a tanning salon and got the spray tanned... My sister who has at one year old and is preggo again did the same thing during her first pregnancy and nothing was wrong with the baby. She is now 5 months pregnant again and she goes every other week and nothing has ever happened.

I spoke to my doc about this and she seemed perfectly fine with the idea.

Not a prob glad I could help you! Just make sure its not raining that day...lol you don't want to look all splotchy Report It

Reply:My doctor told me it was fine to use self tanners during my pregnancy. It may just depend on the doctors opinion.
Reply:I would think so, I've never seen any warning on any self tanner or gradual lotion tanner that says pregnant women should not use it.
