What is the earliest month to get affective tanning?

I am deffinetly not the tannest. I live in the Mid West and I was wondering what the earliest month was that I could get tan.

(I don't like tanning beds...bad experience.)

Thanks!
What is the earliest month to get affective tanning?
Unless you can be out in the sun, go for a spay on tan.
What is the earliest month to get affective tanning?
I know I wasn't asked this but I'm gonna say any way. Tanning is horrible for your skin. You can even get skin cancer from it, my dad did and he is very dark. It dries your skin out. It causes wrinkles. It may look good, but it's not healthy. Consider cultivating the un-tan. I'm so glad I did. I have very few wrinkles, and only expression wrinkles, not ones that stay around. I'm too light to tan, and I gave up. I'm so glad, I'm 50 and it's so nice to pass for at least 10 years younger than that.

Tattoos and tanning booths?

I got my Tattoo in November

Its small simple black and red on my shoulder blade

Would indoor tanning damage the tattoo in any way such as discoloration?

I know my artist said to put sunblock on it when in the sun so that obviously means UV rays can do some damage to it..

Anyone know for sure?
Tattoos and tanning booths?
You definitely want to put a high sunblock on it or cover it. Color tattoos, whether in the real sun or the "fake" sun will fade much quicker.
Tattoos and tanning booths?
not it wont if held ur fine
Reply:I don't think it will hurt it.
Reply:you're fine.
Reply:Going to cause/speed fading process, even more so if you have colour.

Maybe cover it if you can, you say it's small. Otherwise strong sunblock on it.
Reply:it will defiantly speed the fading process. either cover it completely or use the strongest sunblock you can get to protect it.

Can I go in a tanning bed when i have several cuts?

I have a problem cutting myself, and lately after a break up with my bf they had gotten worse. I am trying to let them heal but they are still a little tender. I feel better about myself when i am tan, idk why but it looks nicer. I was wondering if i could still go in a tanning bed even though i have several slightly open wounds?
Can I go in a tanning bed when i have several cuts?
You probably shouldn't. It might get infected.

But really hun, please go see a therapist.......
Can I go in a tanning bed when i have several cuts?
no. an open wound is a break in the skins natural protection barrier and you will be susceptible to germs and could get a bad infection. put some polysporin on the cuts and cover. you do need to see a counselor for the self cutting, there are other ways to reduce stress without hurting yourself. use some self tanning lotion on your skin that is not cut/intact for a nice healthy glow, tanning beds are not healthy even if you're not cut. skin cancer, premature aging, etc.
Reply:Firstly if you use a sunbed you would be using accelorator cream too, which isn't supposed to be used on broken skin. Second, being on a sunbed will slow down the time it takes for them to heal, so you'll be left with white marks around them from not using accelorator and they will take a long time to heal. I own a tanning shop, so I would definitely advise you to wait

Jergens sunless tanning lotion?

has anyone turned orange or streaky after using jergens sunless tanning lotions? and how often do you apply it?
Jergens sunless tanning lotion?
It depends on which one you're talking about if you're talking about the gradual tanning lotion it works really well it gives your skin a natural looking glow... but if your talking about the spray tan you'll look orange.. you apply the gradual tanning lotion like twice a day that's what i do anyway
Jergens sunless tanning lotion?
yes it sucks save your 5.99
Reply:IT WORKS IF YOU APPLY IF RIGHT.

MAKE SURE YOU APPLY IT EVENLY. AND AFTER APPLYING IT WITH YOUR HANDS...WASH THE PALMS OF YOUR HANDS.

OTHER THAN THAT IT WORKS.

I LIKED IT.
Reply:it sucks. %26amp; kinda smells funny.

Is it ok to go tanning even if i'm on an antibiotic?

Unfortunatly my wisdom teeth got infected so i'm on an antibiotic for that (just started this morning) However, i REALLY want/need to go tanning... my mom said thats not safe since i'm on an antibiotic. Is this true? or is my mom making things up since she doesnt want me to go tanning
Is it ok to go tanning even if i'm on an antibiotic?
She's right. You're not supposed to get sun exposure or use tanning beds while you're on it. Sometimes you can look at the medication info and it'll tell you about side effects and precautions.

Just wait, being paler for a little while won't kill you ^_^
Is it ok to go tanning even if i'm on an antibiotic?
No she isnt making it up antibiotics could make your burn, I know when I was on them an went to florida, was out in the sun on the beach for most of the day came in and my skin burned and some of it bubbled...

It may just depend on the medication also, I would forgo it for a few days. Just to be safe.

Does SUnless tanning lotion work or whAT??

I bought some coppertone sunless tanning lotion. It works at whatnot, but then just washes off in the shower. Anyone got some advice or sumthing?
Does SUnless tanning lotion work or whAT??
Well, are you showeing before it has been 6 hours? If so, don't. On the label it says 3 hours, but ive found 6 hours works best. Good luck, its a great product
Does SUnless tanning lotion work or whAT??
You should really try Jergens Energy glow...it really really works! The only bad thing is it kind of smells weird but it does give you a naturaly looking tan! It's not expensive either; You can purchase it at any local drug store or wal mart..

I just wanted to add that I usually put it on AFTER my shower because not only is it a sunless tanner it is also a moisturizer so it's good for your skin.
Reply:This product is simply a stain. The longer you leave it on, the more pigment will stain the skin. If you wash the stuff off prior to 6 hours, you will not get the maximum benefit. I used the stuff a couple of weeks before my trip to Hawaii last year and it took a little bit of time to get it right. Just make sure not to leave the obvious spots unstained. I totally forgot about my armpits the first time and totally dorked out. he he.

I accidentally looked into the tanning bed light!?

while i was tanning today, my sunglobes (tanning goggles) fell off while i rolled over to look at the timer and accidentally looked into the lights! will my eyes be majorly damaged? i shut my eyes as fast as i could...
I accidentally looked into the tanning bed light!?
no your eyes will not be just because of that! I've done it before.. as long as you are not staring at it for a long period of time you will be fine
I accidentally looked into the tanning bed light!?
ha. you'll be just fine! :)
Reply:You're worrying about your eyes being damaged. Honey you need to worry about your whole body being damaged by the tanning bed. When you're older you'll wish you never went to the tanning bed. Your body is gonna look terrible.
Reply:u r good 2 go
Reply:haha no worries you'll be fine :)
Reply:You're fine...damage on your eyes would happen from repeated and extended exposure to the UV lights. :)
Reply:My goggles fall off all the time cuz i don't have the string to keep em on..and when i roll over to see the timer ( cuz i'm impatient) I usually drop em too... but i done it so many times and my vision and my eyes are perfectly fine..i don't think once is goin to hurt either ...i learned to just hold the goggle things while i roll to look :-)
Reply:You are so cute ahah!!

No, you'll be perfectly fine.

Musta hurt a bit tho :P
Reply:If you can see now and your eyes didn't melt out of your head you'll be fine...
Reply:No, It will be fine.

It's happened to me before.

I usually don't wear the goggles, I just clothes my eyes. -_-

Hope this helps! :)
Reply:If it was a quick flash then you will be fine. Just as long as you didn't stare in the light for a long period of time.

You shouldn't be caring about your eyes right now. Tanning is really bad for your skin and one day when you're older you will see what i mean.

:(
Reply:You will be FINE. I look in the light all the time and when I went to the doctor the other day my eye sight is 2 points from perfect.
Reply:you'll be fine ones someone pointed one of those laser pointers in my eyes. I still have 20-20 so you will be fine for sure

Does Walmart or Target sell tanning goggles?

I need to buy some simple tanning goggles for the tanning bed and was wondering if you have seen them at either places? Where would they be..summer stuff?

Thanks!
Does Walmart or Target sell tanning goggles?
I don't believe so... You can only buy them online or at the Tanners. Also if there is somewhere local to you that sells Tanning beds they usually carry some accessories.
Does Walmart or Target sell tanning goggles?
Wal-mart for sure does. I bought mine there! But you can get them cheaper at an actual tanning salon.
Reply:I'm actually not sure if they sell tanning googles. I know they sell tanning lotions for cheap. I reccommend buying them at a tanning salon; they only charge about three dollars for goggles.
Reply:I am sure Walmart does. If you have a Sally Beauty supplies in town, I know they do for sure. Good Luck.

Acne after using a different tanning lotion?

2 months ago I started using Crystal, a very expensive (but not worth it) tanning lotion. After I used it for about a week, I started to get little pimples on my upper chest. The pimples WILL NOT GO AWAY. They have been in the same spot for months, no matter what bodywash I use, or topical medication.

Has anyone else ever had a problem like this with a tanning lotion?

My shoulders have started to get little blemishes (not pimples, just red spots that look like pimples), and my face will not stop breaking out. I feel like my skin has gone crazy.

My face and body have been very clear since I was about 15, I am now 20. I have tried ProActiv, although I never needed it, and I've tried everything from the store that is available. I'm just sick of feeling like I don't look beautiful anymore because of these blemishes.

Any help out there!?
Acne after using a different tanning lotion?
go to a skin doc they should be able to help you. when you buy any new product no matter what it is you are spose to test it on a small part of your skin and leave it for 24 hrs. to see if you have side affects. dont use the taning stuff even though i think you would of stopped and see a doc

hope it all works out.

and im sure your beautiful anyway.
Acne after using a different tanning lotion?
go to a dermatologist %26amp; c wuts going on...stop using the tanning lotion
Reply:A pack for acne or pimple prone skin would be that of honey (1 tsp) with 1/2 (tsp ) of cinnamon powder. Apply for 15 minutes. Due to the antiseptic properties, bacterial infections in the skin are treated. More remedies at http://tinyurl.com/ypzvgd

Is the tanning spary good to spray on face?

is the tanning spary stuff good to spray on face? It says recommended for body use only but it doesnt note a warning that you shouldn't use it on face?
Is the tanning spary good to spray on face?
Yeah, I definitely don't recommend using what you use for your body on your face.

#1 - It's not the right formula for facial skin.

#2 - It's no where near the right shade for facial skin.

Try finding something that's gentle enough for your face and tans it gradually.

Happy tanning!
Is the tanning spary good to spray on face?
Not sure read some tanning tips and more on this site to help you with it
Reply:There are self-tanners that are designed for use on the face. Buy the separate product to use on your face, just to be safe. You wouldn't want to have an acne break-out.
Reply:Okay, technichally companies are not legally obligated to warn against using it on your face, unless someone has offically reported something against using it on your face. It's up to you, but I advise against it.
Reply:Do you have any idea about the amount of dangerous chemicals in tanning spray?

I would not spray that crap on ANY body part. Type a few of the ingredients into google and see what comes up.

That stuff is poison....

Good luck...
Reply:If it's body tanning spray, use it for JUST your body. There are tanning sprays specifically for the face, and for good reason. So if you want to use a tanner on your face, go buy one specifically made for the face, and try to get one that will make you gradually darker over time.
Reply:no
Reply:It's not the best thing for your face, I wouldn't do it. Get out of the tanning mode of thinking. A tan person does not look better than a non-tan person.

Why are tanning beds so unhealthy???

My sister likes to go tanning and I am trying to tell her to stop.Let me know what is bad about it.

Thanks
Why are tanning beds so unhealthy???
It gives off UV rays which cause skin cancer when you're older.

As long as she doesn't do it too often, it should be ok.
Why are tanning beds so unhealthy???
Tannning beds are unhealthy because they can burn your skin and can give you cancer. I would reccomend not using one.
Reply:ummmm. can you say SKIN CANCER!!!!

besides.. fake tans are so ugly!!!
Reply:Ages the skin. If not present at time - age will show....

Skin also becomes like leather. At tattooist know the skin and if it's been in extreme sun.

Believe me age will prove the wrinkles and skin......Really

Also may cause skin cancer, which again will not show up to older, by moles - flat moles are the worst as the roots are within
Reply:They cause major long term skin damage that can lead to premature ageing of the skin as well as a higher risk of developing skin cancer later on in life.

Perfect Teeth

I have just started spray tanning at home for clients.Does anyone think 2 coats of spray tan is too much?

i am finding that i am using a lot of tanning fluid even tjough my machine is on a low spray setting.i generally spray everthing twice but face feet hands once.Any advice please.
I have just started spray tanning at home for clients.Does anyone think 2 coats of spray tan is too much?
hi you only need to spray over each area once apart from the face which you can go over twice, if you are needing to go over twice then you are using a too low percentage for the persons skin tone. most professional spray tan solutions come in 8,10 and 12 % ( light, medium and dark) some makes like sun sensations also do a mega dark for really dark skin

hope this helps hun.

Beside skin cancer can you die in a tanning booth?

my mom thinks i should go to a tanning salon and get a tan cause im really really pale. i had no objections untill i saw final Destination 3. when the two girls died in the tanning booths. now im terrified of them am i being wierd or should i be scared.
Beside skin cancer can you die in a tanning booth?
ah the SAME thing happened to me...my friend explained to me that i was just being crazy and it was just a movie. besides skin cancer, there is really no risk to going to a tanning salon.

you should try it,

Beside skin cancer can you die in a tanning booth?
I think it's possible to overheat and pass out, but OI don't know about death, I go tanning all the time, don't be scared if your a first timer.
Reply:why don't you try some of the tanning moisturizers over the counter

they are cheaper and not hazardous
Reply:Yes, you could end up cooking your internal organs. Just don't stay in there very long. Any decent tanning salon will have rules about use to protect you.
Reply:No offense but it doesn't seem like your mom has your best interests at heart if she's telling you that you need a tan. Tanning booths aren't healthy, like you said they can cause skin cancer, and you can still get burns and such as well, think about sitting in the sun for an extended period of time...it's basically the same thing.
Reply:Well, as long as you aren't destined to die you should be fine. You start off at a low amount of time and then work up from there.
Reply:Tanning Booths: Are They Worth the Risk?

Every year more than one million people are diagnosed with skin cancer in the United States. Despite this fact, hundreds of thousands of people routinely visit tanning salons.

Are tanning booths less dangerous than tans from the sun? The fact is that the UVA rays that are emitted from the Ultraviolet A light sources in tanning salons are two to three times more powerful than the UVA rays which occur naturally from the sun.

Scientists and most lay people agree that solar radiation is damaging to our skin. The first effect of sun damage that we notice is that our skin may become pink, red, or blistered from a severe burn. Forms of photosensitivity including drug reactions and sun poisoning may also be initiated by tanning salon exposure.

Some who tan not only accept, but expect their skin to pass through these damaging changes. They believe that these damaging skin changes are the path to a deep, golden glow. They want to appear healthy. So they often accept the pink, red, and even severe burns and blisters, as necessary tribulations that must occur.

What are the long-term effects of UV exposure?

Over time, the effects of too much UVA exposure can lead to eye damage, immune system changes, cataracts, wrinkles and premature aging of the skin, and skin cancers. Look at your own skin and compare areas such as the front of your hands and your face to areas that are almost never exposed to solar radiation. The difference in skin texture, tone, wrinkles, ect. that you see are caused by exposure to the sun.

Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer and approximately 90% of all skin cancers can be traced to UV exposure. Skin cancer most often occurs on the face, and almost never on the buttocks, inner thighs, or under the arms. The three main types of skin cancer are melanoma, basal-cell carcinoma, and squamous-cell carcinoma. Malignant melanoma is the deadliest form of skin cancer and its incidence is rapidly rising in women under 40.

Who's at Risk?

Skin cancer can happen to anyone, however the risk is greatest for people who:

have fair skin.

have blonde, red, or light brown hair.

have blue, green, or gray eyes.

always burn before tanning.

burn easily.

don't tan easily, but spend a lot of time outdoors.

have previously been treated for skin cancer or who have a family history of skin cancer (if you have a family history of melanoma, see your physician for regular skin exams).

live in or take regular vacations to high altitudes (Ultraviolet exposure increases with altitude).

work indoors all week and try to play "catch up" on the weekend.

Warning Signs of Skin Cancer

As with many cancers, early detection and treatment offers your best chance of remission and survival. Here are some signs that may indicate skin cancer:

A skin abnormality that increases in size and appears multicolored, pink, red, black, brown, tan, pearly, translucent, or tan.

A mole that changes color, textures, grows, becomes irregular in shape, or that is bigger than a pencil eraser.

A spot or growth that continually itches, hurts, becomes crusty, scabs, or bleeds.

An open sore that does not heal after 4 weeks or one that heals and reopens.

Regular skin self-exams could save an estimated 4,500 lives annually. Anytime you are concerned about a growth or spot on your skin, it is best to seek the advice of your physician.

Protecting Your Skin

Most of us know the importance of using a sunscreen to help prevent damaging rays from penetrating our skin. Using the proper SPF for your skin type and circumstances may lower your risk of skin cancer, however sunscreens will not undo damage that has already been done to your skin.

Those who seek their tans from tanning salons should be aware of other considerations:

Those who burn easily or never tan in the sun should not use tanning salons.

Check with your pharmacist for possible drug interactions.

UV radiation can aggravate cold sores in people who are prone to them.

Always use the protective goggles which should be available at the tanning salon. Your eyes can be severely burned by the intense UV rays emitted by the light source.
Reply:i wouldnt either...any unnatural extreme heat.light is bound to be dangerouds in many ways. maybe u should try some of that new lotion that gives u a tan
Reply:I would say that you could. but only if you stayed in there too long
Reply:yes you could die because you could get heated up and pass out but the movie Final Destination 3 is fake and u cant actually go on fire in the booth
Reply:I know that movie was freaky. lol... But, the tanning beds are on a timer, so no worries. I love tanning. Not only do I look hot when I'm tan, but it makes me feel so good after wards. I feel like it cleanses the toxins from my body. Many people will probably preach to you about the skin cancer risks. Like anything else, tanning should be done in moderation.
Reply:I saw that movie to,but the odds of you dieing in a tanning saloon....well...if you think about it's a dumb question dont be scared you wont be barbeque....unless you escaped death's wrath but really it's okay to be scared it was a really dramitic movie just about anything in that dumb movie could kill you it's not like that on real earth were you can drink a coffee without worrying if dishfluid was in it-----like Bob marley said dont worry about a thing cause every little thing it's gonna be alright
Reply:You certainly can die if you over-do it! I knew of a girl who begged her mom all semester the year of her senior prom to let her go to a tanning salon so she would look nice for her date, etc. Well, her mom kept telling her she could but put it off until about a week and a half before the prom. The girl finally went. However, since she waited until the last minute, she decided to go "tanning bed hopping". You normally are limited to how often and how long you spend in a tanning bed because of the risks involved. Anyway, she spent as much time as she was allowed at each tanning bed before moving on to the next one. One evening, three days before the prom, the girl came into the living room after a shower. Her mom says, "What is that smell?" "It smells like burnt flesh." The girl couldn't smell anything. Eventually the mom figured out it was the girl. The mom took the girl to the ER after looking her over and taking note of the intense, nausteating odor coming from her daughter's skin. The doctors told her that the girl had cooked her insides. The girl died a couple of days later.
Reply:Yes! you can die in a tanning booth. Be careful. not only die but this can cause serious damage to your skin and cause skin aging even skin cancer. tanning booths can be very dangerous and can catch on fire easily. If you want an instant tan I suggest tanning spray or rub on lotion that you can purchase at a cvs or drugstore. That should work. although if it doesn't work at first than try different brands you should be able to find something that works with your skin.

I'm having a problem when I go tanning?

I know tanning is horrible for you and I try not to go to the tanning bed that much, but I'm finding when I do go that there are always 2 circles on my back (on my shoulder blades) and rear end. I've tried laying a different way, applying more lotion to those areas etc, but nothing seems to work. It's starting to look silly cause I've gotten a pretty good tan but those spots are really white! Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I'm having a problem when I go tanning?
lay on your stomach for half the session!!!
I'm having a problem when I go tanning?
try tanning in the sun instead
Reply:go to the beach, then you wont have to spend money. either way your exposing your skin anyway
Reply:I agree with trying to lay on your stomach
Reply:I *think* its because of sweat build up. take a small cloth in there with you and whipe it off every couple minutes.
Reply:Unfortunately you'll have to lay on your belly. It's the bones that shadow those areas, so the belly is the best place to lay. Just not that comfy.
Reply:I'm afraid there is nothing remotely healthy about tanning and it is my hope that you will simply stop doing it. You'll ruin your skin.
Reply:If you're lying on your back, it's because the blood is being cut off because that's where the pressure is. Try laying on your stomach for half the time you're in there.

How to protect lips while tanning?

I just got a tanning bed membership, and I found that the beds somewhat burn my lips. They're not exactly chapped, they just feel less soft, and there's this redness around them (kinda like a Kool-Aid mustache). The rest of my body is fine, no strange reactions, but not the lips.

I put on some lip balm before I go in the bed, but it doesn't appear to be working. Do any of you have any tips on protecting your lips while in the tanning bed? If not, do you recommend any products for moisturizing them REALLY well? Thanks!
How to protect lips while tanning?
You said that you used lip balm before the tanning session, but did it have SPF in it? Chapstick makes a great lip balm with SPF. I believe it is the one in the blue tube.

If not, the extra moisture from the lip balm was probably attracting more UV light, the same way an indoor tanning lotion encourages the attraction of UV light on other parts of your body. Moisturized skin tans better.

Try Chapstick with SPF. If you are already using a lip balm with SPF, try a higher level of SPF or dab a bit of sun screen on there before you tan.
How to protect lips while tanning?
you really should cover your whole face, to prevent wrinkles because tanning beds speed up the againg process and just wear a darker foundation.

or just get a high spf lip balm my tanning place sells lip balm to protect your lips
Reply:i tan all the time bc i live in new york. before i get in the bed, after applying my tannin lotion, i put chapstick on. i just use the regular kind, and i then apply it after i get out and before i go to bed. (being in a cold area, i actually use it all the time!) but i always always put it on before i start my actual tannin sessions...!!! merry christmass xoxo.%26lt;3
Reply:don worry fren. use cocounut oil or ghee.it may hel you to protect your lips.it helps to shine your lips. plzz try this tips..
Reply:use lots and lots of vaseline
Reply:I have found the best and most reasonable product is sold by E.L.F. my favorite is the blackberry creme. You should really check it out: http://www.eyeslipsface.com/products.asp... it is so cheap and wonderful for your lips. I have used so many other products, including extremely expensive stuff and this is the BEST! Plus, it tastes good, smells amazing (people notice!) and it makes my lips the softest ever...and I live in PA where it is freezing and drying right now and I have to tan or I blend into the snow!!!
Reply:Use one with zinc oxide, as this helps aid in healing if you get sunburned. If you can't find a balm with it in it, just use the stuff from the tube found in the first aid section of most stores. The main ingredient in most lip balms is petrolatum, or petroleum jelly, which moisturizes, but does not aid in healing.

Afraid I overheated or squished my baby while tanning outside.?

I am in Hawaii on vacation and apparently left my head back home. I never thought about overheating while laying in the sun and I have spent some long hot hours outside in the sun and tanning. I am 19 weeks pregnant and scared I might have done something bad to the baby. Also, while tanning I layed on my back for around 30 minutes a time and also on my stomach (with a hole dug for my little tummy). I thought I felt the baby kick in the past week, but these last two days I have not felt anything and those days were long days in the sun tanning. Could I have caused harm to the baby from getting too hot in the sun or from laying on my stomach or back for a long time? I can't believe I didn't think of this before!
Afraid I overheated or squished my baby while tanning outside.?
I would not worry. Chances are the relaxation did you some good. As long as you stayed hydrated, it is probably no big deal. Laying on your back or stumach is not a big deal at 19 weeks because chances are you have not gained a ton of weight that would prevent proper blood flow when on your back. Try not to worry dear... enjoy your vacation!

Also, at 19 weeks, the fetal movements will not be consistant. It is really scary, but at that point I would go a day or two at a time without movement. You can try laying down with a cool beverage and a snack and see if you can feel anything within the hour, but at 19 weeks, even that might not let you feel movement. You can call your doctor when you get home and have them check the heartbeat just to give you some peace if you need. Enjoy your vacation!!!
Afraid I overheated or squished my baby while tanning outside.?
Your baby is very safe and prtected in there. The worst thing that you can do is stress over what had been done. If your worried about your baby moving then drink a glass of orange juice and lay down on your back. I think the rule is that if you don't feel your baby move 4 times in an hour then call the doctor. It's best to be laying down though so that you are very aware of the movements. You can count them even if they are just a flutter. I'm not sure about the number though so maybe count movements and then call the doctor and tell them how many movements you counted. And I wouldn't worry about laying on your tummy. I've had two children and both doctors have said that if your comfortable then your baby is comfortable.
Reply:If you are concerned the best thing to do is to call your OBGYN. I wouldn't worry to much though. My daughter wasn't much of a kicker,She was more of a pusher. Stick her foot in my side till it hurt, and when I would get concerned I would drink 2 Dr Peppers, really cold one, then lay on my left side for 20 minutes or and count the flutters I felt.
Reply:I'm sure your little one is okay, But excessive heat is bad for your baby. I doubt you hurt the baby by laying on your tummy, it has lots of fluid surrounding it right now. I would call your doctor to schedule a non-stress test to make sure your baby's alright, considering you haven't felt movement in a couple days. What do you like better tanning beds or Mist & Tan?

I still like tanning beds better, because I just fall asleep and wake up when the buzzer goes off and I'm cooked!
What do you like better tanning beds or Mist %26amp; Tan?
Tanning Beds!! or event the stand up kind. I tried the spray on mist and at the time I worked at a bar I was constatnly in and out of the cooler grabbing drinks and so forth and by the end of the night I was streaked like a brown and white zebra. I'll never do that again with spray ons you might as well stay there until the next day because it rubs off on your cloths and you can't get wet for a while either.

Banana Boat Tanning question...?

So my mom bought me this Banana Boat Summer Color self tanning mist stuff. And i haven't ever used it before, i got carried away and now i look like a cheetah. I look really stupid, is there ANY way to get this stuff of my body?
Banana Boat Tanning question...?
lemon juice w/water. bath. exfoliate.
Banana Boat Tanning question...?
Take a shower and get some expholient..........like apricot scrub or something along those lines! That will help it fade a little bit, but in the meantime just try and cover it up! I did that to myself once, and it sucked!!! Also, after you scrub the crap out of it...you can go outside and lay in the sun....getting tan over it might help it to blend in a little more!
Reply:read my answer to this persons' question i seemed to help her, maybe it could help you! Good luck

Is indoor tanning safe?

is indoor tanning safe when ur pregnant?...i herd that it affects their eyes and maybe even raise body temps higher...? what do u think?
Is indoor tanning safe?
its def not safe dont do it. also i think tanning beds are much worse than the sun because i tried laying in the tanning bed and developed a cancerous mole. its under control now but i never got any moles like that when i would just go out in the sun. if you absolutely have to id say get a tan the natural way, but you should stay out of the sun because it can cause cancer not too mention itll make your skin look like a leather handbag in ab 10 years.
Is indoor tanning safe?
Stop immediatly, are you crazy?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:NOT SAFE!!! dont do it man!!! look. even when your not pregent its not good to have those rays penetrating your body making it more likely to get cancer. if you do it with a living think inside your body it effect that being too. do hurt your kid
Reply:umm its not even safe for YOU, do you think its gonna be safe for the child you are bearing??????????????? damaging rays dont just go skin deep, they effect it all!....do you want to die of skin cancer too??
Reply:Think of the child. Do you really want them getting fried to a crisp in the womb?
Reply:It is not safe. Why would you even put yourself in danger much less an unborn child?
Reply:No it is not safe anytime. You can develop ovarian cysts and it can harm your eggs. You are only given so many at the time of birth and the tanning bed tans your skin from the inside layer out. Do some research on it and you will find out that is true.

Does self tanning lotion make ur skin orange?

I bought some self tanning lotion for prom so that i wont be so whit! but, my boyfriend said that it'll turn my skin orange. is it true?
Does self tanning lotion make ur skin orange?
Old self tanning lotion has carotin wich makes ur skin orange but todays self tanning lotion shouldn't do that...
Does self tanning lotion make ur skin orange?
Some do and some don't. It also depends on the way and how much you apply.
Reply:So long as you didn't get some off brand cheap one, you should be good. Make sure you exfoliate first so you don't look blotchy. Oh...and hopefully your dress isn't white. Maybe use a bronzer(like MAC) after, just in case so you will have more brown (and a little sparkle).
Reply:No, I don't think so.

Well at least it's never happened to me.
Reply:There are certain brands of self tanner that do, in fact, give your skin an orange tint. Be choosy in the kind that you buy. Make sure you exfoliate before applying the self tanner to your skin. To make sure you apply the self tanner evenly, it also helps to put lotion on your body first and then apply the self tanner. Make sure you wash your hands immediately after applying the tanner as they are most likely to turn orange. Be careful around you elbows and heals. It also helps if you have someone help you put it on to ensure even distribution of the tanner and to ensure you don't apply too much. It is better to apply a thin layer of self tanner once a day for a few days than to apply a thick layer in just application
Reply:everybody that i know that has used that stuff looks even worse because you an tell. they are soo orange and fake looking and if you dont do your whole body then you are uneven. i would recommend going tanning like 5 times. it wont be bad for you cuz it isnt enough exposure to harm your skin that much. it is actually good for you!! it adds vitamins to your skin.

Is going tanning....?

in tanning beds good for acne?
Is going tanning....?
It's good for getting you CANCER
Is going tanning....?
just a bit of natural sun is better for acne..

tanning beds are more dangerous to your skin.

try 100% aloe vera gel on pimples each night..wash off in morning..it works.
Reply:sunlight/tanning are great for acne. Use in moderation for health/skin concerns but getting some rays does help
Reply:maybe once, natural outside light is better. after a while of doing it, your skin will get oily, though.
Reply:honestly it makes it look a little better but i heard its not good for it.
Reply:Ugh........ No it is not "good" for acne. Many teenage girls have read articles that have stated that it is good for your acne. What the artificial ultraviolet rays do to your acne is fry the acne, making it seem to go away, when actually all it is doing is leaving a scar behind and giving you an unnatural baked effect. it is better to find an elite acne system that will eliminate it once and for all!!!!!!!!!! Best of luck

Legs not getting dark in tanning bed!!!?

been going to a tanning bed for almost a month now. my upper body is pretty dark, but my legs are stark white!! i have no idea why....??? i use the stand up, not the bed. plz tell me why i am not tanning on my legs!!
Legs not getting dark in tanning bed!!!?
Use accellerator on your legs.
Legs not getting dark in tanning bed!!!?
Your legs are 'smart' to avoid such tanning...

Get outta there before you look like a raisin Report It

Reply:Some body parts are more prone to the effects of light then others... my suggestion would be that you need a tanning bed because your legs are'nt getting enough light to cause the desired effect.
Reply:it always seems that your legs tan less than the rest of you! I have the same problem, at least I think I do. Everyone around me says my legs are getting darker. Dunno ... just try the accelerator on your legs only and let them catch up to the rest of you.
Reply:I admit that this doesn't really answer your question, but tanning beds are MORE dangerous, in terms of UV waves, than the sun. Go slather on some sun tan lotion, and lay out in your backyard :)
Reply:Tanning is your skins reaction to being attacked by ultra-violet light. The more often an area is attacked the more pigmentation it stores up, ready to fight the next attack. Since your legs are under you most of the time they get the least amount of sunlight and have less pigment to darken your skin when tanning. Try using a tanning oil on your legs to promote the darkening effect. Just be careful about burning.
Reply:MAYBE YOU SHOULD TRY STANDING ON YOUR HANDS
Reply:I have the same problem but yea try the regular beds and I use a intinsifyer the tingle stuff try it.
Reply:Try using a lay down bed and if it has a face tanner in it lay in the bed backwards so that your legs are where the face tanner is

Are self tanning lotions harmful in any way?

I have started using the sunless tanning lotions. Are they harmfull in any way--Like the dyes or whatever it is that makes you turn color?!?
Are self tanning lotions harmful in any way?
No, worked for a dermatologist, and it's the best thing you can do for yourself if you want to look tan...it's the suntanning, and tanning beds that are hurting people, and especially the young, don't think about when they are older, the consequences that all the damage the sun and tanning beds are doing to them...it's fine, it's safe, and you look tan...go at it..

How different is High Pressure tanning from regular sun?

I burn very easily and am going to Jamaica at the end of the month. I usually do High Pressure tanning in the beginning of the month to get my "base" tan. But a friend of mine told me it wont help me. Any thoughts?

yes it will help you I think that way when u get their you won't burn

Are the newer high end tanning beds better for you're skin then older ones?

do the newer tanning beds they have out, like the matrix, just as bad for you as any other tanning beds, or are they not bad at all?
Are the newer high end tanning beds better for you're skin then older ones?
they are both bad for you they both cause skin cancer there was a lady i knew had skin cancer because of them
Are the newer high end tanning beds better for you're skin then older ones?
They are still bad but improved. Any tanning will damage skin.
Reply:No tanning bed is good for you. They all give you about 500 percent more UV exposure than you need. Tanning just isn't good, period.
Reply:No tanning beds are good for you u should stick with the sun with sunscreen
Reply:both are bad tanning is bad period caused major damage to your skin

One gives you cancer and the other gives you caner. Stay away from tanning beds, venality now means wrinkles later.

BRAND NEW stretch marks and tanning?

i was wondering if brand new stretch marks, like the dark red/purple ones, if you go tanning if they made them worse.. and if theres anything i could do as in only put tanning lotion over the stretch marks or so.. i have like 5 stretch marks on my belly.

Reply:Ive heard tanning helps, but ive never tried it myself. Ive learned about this cream called Barmon Stretch Mark Cream. They guarantee that it works or they'll give you your money back. Ive tried this product and it really worked, you could barely see the stretch marks after a month and i started seeing results days after i started using it, it worked wonders! I have tried several different things, including Palmer's Coca Butter, and its the only thing that worked. You can find the link on my myspace page at myspace.com/ladykiramina. Just check it out, it has great before and after pictures that will leave you amazed They worked so well, ive started promoting for them!

What kind of Instant sun tanning lotion is best.?

What kind of Instant sun tanning lotion is best.?
Did you get Jergens natural glow? That works much better. Or bare essentials tanning lotion.
Reply:maybe the neutrogena foam stuff.... that's a little darker.... you know... i use the jergans and to get tan i buy the medium instead of light... it gets you a lot tanner...
Reply:i like the neutrogena products - they seem to give the best "natural" tan color. and they have a bronzer built in so you can tell where you are putting the color %26amp; if you miss a spot - just be sure to wash your hands well, because it will tan your palms.

and, don't forget, you still need to use a sunscreen when you use the self-tanning products, since they don't protect from the sun's harmful rays.

GIRLS! is tanning safe?

thinking about a tanning booth but its my first time...... does it work? is it safe? does it cover up strech marks? hehe
GIRLS! is tanning safe?
no fake tanning isnt safe. my mom did it for a while..like every friday with my aunt (her sister) and it just makes ur face look aged and fake. it also increases ur chances of cancer by 50% every time that you di fake tanning or get sunburned. I would put on some fake tanner and deal with it or use sunscreen and go get a tan outside without burning.
GIRLS! is tanning safe?
NO! tanning is not safe.
Reply:It is not safe, it usually makes my stretch marks darker, but

look up Melanotan. It is an injection that stimulates you melanin and helps your skin darken and protect itself. It is not really legal or illegal just has not come out on the market yet. I tried it ...it worked. I was pleased I am going to do another cycle soon.
Reply:Its safe if you want cancer.
Reply:Actually tanning is not really good for your skin. It is like a light sunburn. Just don't get to tan or you'll get cancer!
Reply:No unfortunately it does not cover up stretch marks, and its not safe. But that does not stop us girls. The best thing to do is just only do it for a short period of time and DONT LET YOURSELF BURN!! That is bad. But do not expect to be tan on your fist time, you will see results in about 5 tans.
Reply:No! it also increases ur chances of cancer by 50%
Reply:Look after your body with a good rub of Vitamin E and yes sunbeds are quiet safe, but don't be your usual self and overdo it.
Reply:No use my English teacher for example. She has been going to the tanning salon for 10 years and now she is 30 and looks like shes 40. Use some of that tanning oil stuff.

I'm a guy and this is what i've seen.

fyi Getting a little tan over the weekend isnt bad ;)
Reply:NO! Tanning beds and any kind of unatural tanning (except spray on) is SO bad for you. It increases your skin cancer risk by over 30x. To answer your three questions, sometimes, no, and no. So you're better off being in the sun or using a spray on tan.
Reply:No No No NO!!!! Tanning of ANY sort is NOT SAFE! Tanning booths are actually more dangerous than natural sunlight, as they are so much more intense. Tanning WILL NOT cover stretch marks, and may make them more visible! If you want a sunlit glow, instead of going to a tanning booth, use a self-tanner. Use the money you would spend on a booth to get a great self-tanning system like Fusion Beauty's system or go to a professional airbrush salon. Get your glow on that way, then use the highest SPF you can find on a daily basis. Your skin will thank you in 20 years, believe me!
Reply:I think tanning is safe as long as you dont burn, and if you dont have an obviouse cancer problem in your family. be sure to use a goos lotion though. and have fun
Reply:tanning isn't safe, especially fake bake isn't!, don't do it !!
Reply:dont let yourslef burn and you will be fine. yer, it can give you cancer but you live onnce right? who doesnt want to be gorgous and brown. im addicted to sunbeds, well not addicted but i love them and i have to be brown all year round as i go very very tanned in summer. go for it and use one-i love them!
Reply:It's not safe, it's actually one of the worst things you can do to your skin. Besides increasing your chances for skin cancer, it will age you prematurely. Your skin will look like dried up leather. It will give you wrinkles, discolorations, and age spots. If you want a tan use sunless tanning lotions. And, always use sunscreen.
Reply:umm tanning leads to skin cancer
Reply:TANNING IS TERRIBLE! if you do it too much it can burn your insides- literally! whenever you tan you should wear loads of sun screen! it hurts you even if you don't burn! just regular sun can lead to skin cancer.
Reply:No, Not if you want skin cancer.

The lights they use are ultra violate rays and, well, them are the same radiation lights as the sun has. It works but at a bad cost. No it does not cover stretch marks. Do not go tanning unless you want skin cancer and surgery.

Never gone tanning before...?

What kind of tanning location do you recommend?
Never gone tanning before...?
it just depends on the shade of the tan... there are a lot of good looking tan people out there. dont overdo it. but tanning (thru the sun) will give you skin cancer %26amp; freckles the more you do it. if you want a tan, the best option is to SPRAY tan at salons out there. ask for good recommendations.
Never gone tanning before...?
girls who tan aren't attractive. for some reason i think of dead fish when i see a tanned lady.
Reply:Margarine for the lotion. The roof of your trailor works.
Reply:i don't reccomend any location.

its really bad for your skin, and im sure you know that, but i came out orange once.

:/

the sun/beach works
Reply:Any place you can do it fully nude or as near nude as possible, since tan lines aren't all that great. Also it's better to work your way up gradually. A little is better than a lot. Too much sun is very very bad for your skin, but at the same time you need UVb for vitamin D production and a lot of people lack that especially in northern states during winter months. If there's a sunny window in your house that you can lay in for 5-10 minutes a day then that's all you need.
Reply:Wow...we all know that tanning isn't great for you but neither is the air, sun and most foods. No need to preach when she just may need sun before she goes on vacation and doesn't want to burn.

I'm not a big tanner, but when I do go I use Australian Gold with SPF 15, it seems to be gentle on my sensitive pale skin and it's the most reasonably priced lotion. Make sure when you go you start slow...if you get burnt you will be very uncomfortable. Good Luck I hope I've been helpful.
Reply:I'm a tanning specialist! No not really but I love tanning and have been doing it for years off and on.

I dont know where you live so I can give you advice on what the good place are, but what a place "good" is what kinds of beds they have, how often they change the bulbs, and if their staff is friendly or helpful. Price also plays apart in choosing a place too. THere are many different types of beds starting at a basic bed (20-30 min maximum) then some places have mid beds (10-15 mins maximum) and then High Performance (HP) (10-12 mins maximum). If you never have tanned before then start at the regular basic bed and start at a low mintues depeding on what you color is now and how fast you tan or if you burn. Then just work your way up. Maybe 1x or 2x depending on your preference use a high performance bed or mid bed and it will give you a different even color.

Each place has many packages, lotions, each place is different so just call around in your neighborhood to check out what they have going on. Espeically right now since its so close to Spring Break.

Alternative to Tanning at Chilli Peppers?

Been tanning there on regular basis dont notice much of a difference. Would like opinions on what to do differently or some place else to go.
Alternative to Tanning at Chilli Peppers?
Can I just give you advice and advise you not to tan. Beleive me when I tell you that you don't want to tan. I don't think that you want leathery and wrinkly skin (who does?!).

A safe alternative is

A) Not tanning

B) Sunless tanning.

You would be suprised how natural sunless tanning is getting now days!
Alternative to Tanning at Chilli Peppers?
I don't know what Chilli Peppers is, but I love to tan and I think just about anywhere you could get a good tan...unless your skin is stubborn and you're already tan!....

I would say just find another salon with NEW beds...more powerful ya know? hehe. I don't really know what to tell ya..
Reply:By tanning regularly what do you mean? To get a good base i would go everyday for 3 or 4 days depending on the UV of the bulbs and then every second day till you are at results taht you want! After than you will probably only have to go once a week or every second week, i work at a tanning salon! good luck

Bumps after tanning?

I got these itchy bumps on my back. Will they go away or should I stop tanning?
Bumps after tanning?
you may have contacted something from the tanning bed... i would go see a doctor if they dont go away, and stop tanning in the mean time. maybe it was the lotion or maybe it was just a bad burn? but if it continues i would see a doctor.
Bumps after tanning?
it probably isnt the sun...its probably your tanning oil or whatever you put on before tanning
Reply:stop tanning unless u want to get skin cancer. i'd see a dermatoligst right away
Reply:yes you need to stop tanning. your having an allergic reaction to the artifical lights. if you continue it will only get worse and that's so annoying when you got the itchies. lay out in the sun its free.
Reply:it's probably not the tanning, its probably the shaving or waxing you do before that with the aid of intense heat irritates you skin.

if you shave, wich i prefer over waxing, use the new aveeno therapeutic shave gel. it really does do wonders to help!

comes in a metal off-white cotainer at walmart!
Reply:they might b heat rash u should get that checked

Airbrush//Spray Tanning.?

Does this work? How does it work? Are there any places in Florence,SC for this type of tanning? How long does it last? Does it look natural? Which do you prefer?
Airbrush//Spray Tanning.?
Hey, I live in CT, and there is a place here that a person actually does it, it's not a booth! i have not heard very good things about the booths, but i absolutely LOVE the results that i get from the actual spray tan from this person. it doesn't usually last too long, but it's natural looking, and pretty inexpensive. i do it before vacations! haha. try to get one up on everyone else!
Airbrush//Spray Tanning.?
I used it a few times...1) its VERY cold, 2) you'll look orange if you have no base tan 3) you'll stain your sheets 4) can be pricey...any other questions. i personally dont like it, but it is much healthier than fake baking
Reply:I had the mistic tan done once.

I worked a little, I think you have to get it done mulitple times for it to tan you though, and no I didn't look orange...

But it did come off after like 5 days.

Help with tanning oil!!!?

ok i bougt [banana boat dark tanning oil [[with carrot and banan oil]] spf4 how does it work? do i apply and thn go outside? or wat? if u dont noe dont bother writing something plz!! if u noe help me!
Help with tanning oil!!!?
The carrot oil will slightly color your skin so you get a nice 'result' right away.

I put on the oil and just go out, reapply like a regular tanning product, but be aware that the oil will give you faster results which also means faster burns,

Take your time and build a good base, don't try to rush it. Burns are the more common base for skin cancer

Then remember to moisturize!
Help with tanning oil!!!?
read the instructions on the back.
Reply:just rub it into your skin, i believe its in a spray bottle.

it works so well, it turns out like a really good natural tan, especially if your pale.

good luck!
Reply:yep slather it on and go spend some time in the sun but not too much you can still burn badly
Reply:yes, you apply to the skin and then you can go outside.

It does not protect you too well from the sun...SPF 4 is not much...so watch out that you don't burn, otherwise you might get skin cancer one day.

Apply very often!!!!

Im going tanning. Any first-time tips?

This will be my first tanning salon experience and i dont know what to do? i have no idea what i should wear and how long to stay in. Do i wear sun block? will i get eye circles from the goggles? Will i burn even though im italian? How often do you go?
Im going tanning. Any first-time tips?
Okay dont wear sunblock, that would kind of defeat the purpose of going to a tanning salon. Knowing from experience, dont let yourself get burnt. If you've never tanned before dont lay for very long. Also, you may want to use a towel or something and cover up your face about halfway through or else it will burn really bad. They will more than likely provide you with the little goggles and be sure that you wear them or else you could severely hurt your eyes. Whenever you lay in the tanning bed, you can wear whatever you want to wear. I started out wearing like a swimsuit, but now I dont want tan lines so I dont wear anything. Its whatever you're most comfortable wearing. As far as you being Italian, I cant say for sure if you will burn or not, but I had a friend that was Hispanic and she still got burnt a little bit. So its better to be safe than sorry, I think. I think thats all. A little hint, if you want to speed up the process of your tanning, you may want to try an accelorator. They can be a little pricey, but well worth it. Some tanning salons have it to where you can get a sample pack for like $2 -$3 and that way you can just try different ones till you find the one that works best for you.

Hope this helps!
Im going tanning. Any first-time tips?
Be very careful, take the lowest time possible for the first few times, and do not use any of their lotions at first ,you will only burn
Reply:DONT GO my friend (italian) died her first time she went
Reply:yeah! definitley wear sunblock up close to your eyes stay in 15 min atleast.
Reply:use lotion that the salon provides ( it is a bit pricey but it is worth it) and only go for a few min. you do not want to feel the burn. Also your **** and "girls" will burn faster than anything else so I do not put lotion on them. I tan naked so that I do not get any lines...that is what most people do. I do not wear eye goggles I just keep my eye closed or put a white towel on my eyes. If you tan enough yes you will get circles and that is not attractive! I am Italian and I burnt the first time b/c I went for 2 long. When I want a great tan I go about 4-5 times a week. Before you go exfoliate in the shower it will allow your skin to take the tan better. Have fun....oh you can put a sticker on you like a heart or a star each time in the same place each time you go and it will be like a little tattoo.
Reply:1. What to wear. Personally, I don't wear anything- I don't want tan lines. Some people wear just their underwear or a bathing suit though.

2. How long to stay in. NOT LONG! The person working at the salon should know this and help you determine how long to go. Start out slow and increase your time gradually.

3. Sunblock. Generally, no, since you want the tan. You don't want it blocked. As far as sun tan lotion (also known as enhancer), some people do, some don't. Maybe no for you for now and then as you get used to it, you can do it later.

4. Circles from goggles. I've never had it.

5. Will you burn. Maybe? Just don't stay in too long. See #2 above.

6. How often? Usually once a week is recommended for maintaining your tan. More if you want to increase. Again, if you're going to a reputable place, the person working there should be able to point you in the right direction.
Reply:Make sure its regulated, if you stay in to long serious skin damage can occur. Bring sun block along, the eye goggles most likely wont leave marks :]..... Im Italian and I dont burn, but everyones different. Go every 3 - 8 weeks, again everyones different, if you have further questions/concerns feel free to email me ( JuicyCouture911chanel@yahoo.com) or ask the tanning people, theyll gladly answer your qqquestios, im sure theyve heard everything :} Im sure youll look great, its worth it that sun glow, I %26lt;3 it
Reply:Do not do what i done tonight-i went on for far too long,im now bright red and on fire, ive got to go to work looking like a beetroot!
Reply:First time tip is don't do it! Tanning Salons are actually more harmful than the sun. Tanning beds and sun lamps is hazardous because the UV radiation they deliver can damage your skin.

FYI: All skin burns even the skin of African Americans, it just takes a longer time.

Tanning is technically your bodies defense to the sun/tanning bed i.e. it's like when you are sick you body sometimes produces a fever to get rid of the virus etc.

Why would you want to make your body protect you from something you are doing to yourself?

Please check out the Nutrogena Website
Reply:Ask the clerk at the salon if you have any questions they will help.

Its up to you what you want to wear. If you want tan lines than bikini if you don't in the nude.
Reply:OK, but don't say anything when you turn 30, but you actually look 50...
Reply:Do you burn in the sun normally, ever? If you don't, try 6-7 minutes your first time. Have the salon determine your skin type. I am a skin type 3 (prone to burning at first but tan very well) and I was able to do 5 minutes with no lotion of any kind, but barely. BE CAREFUL. The beds get very hot.

I develped horrible tan lines from the goggles. This was one reason I stopped tanning. Another is that it is expensive.

Honestly, I'd try a spray tan or one of the many lotions on the market now. I used the beds over a year ago for spring/summer and was amazed at all the moles/lines I developed. I loved the result; I mean, I was very, very tan, but yikes. I'm probably a LOT older than you, but I don't have much sun damage for my age and I could see that I'd soon develop it if I kept going to the beds. Also, tanning can be addicting; you just want to be darker and darker. There is no way those beds are safe.
Reply:ok i own a tanning salon. when you go to the salon tell them you have never tanned before. they should explain everything to you. it depends on the bed on how long you should go. ( the people at the salon know best take there advice on how long to go.) using a good accelerate is a good idea.do not go for the cheapest one because you get what you pay for. try brands like designer skin, cal-tan, fiji.
Reply:First time in, don't stay longer than fifteen minutes, I made that mistake with a friend of mine, lets say it was not the best decision lol, stayed in like 25 minutes or thereabouts and came out like lobsters.

Fifteen minutes should be safe unless you're really fair but if in doubt, ask the people at the counter where you buy the tokens and cream (they will be able to suggest a cream that will assist, sunblock not so great if you want a tan).

As for what to wear, you can wear whatever you want into the place and when you are going to use the tanning machine, its up to you what you want to wear, I personally never wore anything but can wear underwear and what not if you prefer. I agree with the comment about covering your face halfway through the session, a good idea, I used to do that myself, it doesn't need a lot of exposure.
Reply:i believe u will be burn even if you are a italian due to the UV ray that is given out by the sun~ i have never been to a tan before but my friends did~ they normally wear sun Tan lotion on their skin so to get a golden brown colour (sound quite tasty )~ to make the tan even remember to turn from the front to the back. Hope i've help~
Reply:Hey!! I go tanning all the time..believe me its great... its very relaxing and theres nothing to b scared of! First off u dont want all kinds of tan lines so u dont wear ne thing... and ive personally never worn googles cuz they make u look like u have racoon eyes!! BUT DONT OPEN UR EYES... it doesnt hurt for like a minute but i wouldnt... first time...buy tanning lotion from the tanning place..and put it all over ur body no joke!! Then dont go that long depending on how easy u burn if u burn easy only go like 5 mins... but if u dont burn that easily go 7 or 8 minutes!! I got my base tan and then i only went like once or twice a week... and if u think ur burnt as soon as u get home take an ice cold bath!! Hope I helped good luck!!
Reply:Don't go tanning, not unless you want your skin to look like cheap worn out leather.
Reply:If you are going to a respectable salon, you have almost nothing to worry about. Make sure the salon you chose is clean, and if you are worried about it, ask the staff to show you how they clean the beds. They should be using a particular sanitizer (which kills anything from viruses to fungus) and should be cleaning both the top and bottom of the bed. The salon staff should also be able to tell you how long you should stay in your first time. If they give you a small number of minutes---listen! Your skin does not need to burn to get a tan. All burning does is damage your skin. You won't need to wear sunblock, because the UV light you'll be getting from the bed is regulated, unlike the sun. Also, the salon doesn't want you to wear outside products as it will damage their equipement. You should however ask the staff about indoor tanning lotions. Moist skin will help you achieve a better tan. They can explain the differences between different types of lotions. You should try not to wear any other moisturizers or makeup because these can block the UV rays. You should ALWAYS wear goggles. Your eyelids only block about 25% of the UV rays and a towel does about the same. Risks of not wearing goggles include burned corneas, loss of night vision, color blindness, and early cataracs. You probably will not get circles from the goggles. I have before, but no one else seemed to notice, and makeup covered it up. You may burn even though you naturally have darker skin. Explain your concerns to the staff and they will pick an appropriate time for your tan. Personally, I tan several times a week for about 10 minutes, just to keep some color in the winter months. Depending on your skin type, you may need to go more/less often to achieve the color you want.

Does the tanning bed effect newly dyed hair?

I just dyed my hair dark brown and i wanna his the tanning bed tommarow! Good ideA?
Does the tanning bed effect newly dyed hair?
yes it does. just like the sun but a little worst because your in a more concentrated uva light. put hair up or wrap it. if its too short then put leave in conditioner with sunscreen.

the bed lights will bleach your hair just like the sun. so you need to make sure its protected in the tanning bed and out in the actual sun.
Does the tanning bed effect newly dyed hair?
it depend sometimes it does sometimes it doesnt !
Reply:it doesn't just effect your hair, but your whole body,

tanning lazer artificial beds give you skin cancer.

its so bad for your body.
Reply:eee tanning beds are bad idea in general.. age spots, wrinkles, skin cancer?! yeah not good...

but youd think itd change your hair color... hm... idk, i personally wouldnt even try it if i were you... but idk, never done it.

but if you really wanna tan without risking your hair- or skin- jergens is supposed to be good.

or you could wear a hat or a scarf (cuz the sun will change your hair color) and lay in the sun... but its up to you!

Any good Tanning Schedules?

I'm 16 years old, i'm a really white boy and i hate it, i need sun.

So does anyone have a tanning schedule they could suggest to me, like on what days of the week, and for how long etc?

Thanks!
Any good Tanning Schedules?
I know exactly how you feel, i am not naturally pale but i want to be bronze brown. A few of us started going on sun beds, i only did 20mins, one did 60mins now has a cancerous mole, he's only 17. If your really pale you could develop moles that could be cancerous, you gotta weigh up the risks. I am now really brown, with no moles, and i think it is due to my natural skin colour, but he was extremely pale and I think that is why the mole developed. These moles don't develop just from sun beds, it is the UVB light from the sun, which is in lower amounts on a sun bed. My advice for sun tanning would be, avoid between 10am-3pm. Wear a high factor sun tan cream, never let yourself burn, it does age you what ever people say. Maybe pale isn't so bad, after my friend got diagnosed and he had only done 60 mins now will be extremely careful in the sun. If you burn easily it is probably advisable to not sunbathe much. This is probably what you wanted to hear. Some people have spray tans, they look OK, you have to have them done regularly, people can tell they are fake, and if you don't do it properly it looks awful.
Any good Tanning Schedules?
Usually on any sunny day you can find and go to the beach to do it... usually about 5-10 minutes or you might get sunburn...
Reply:Have you heard of spray tans? Perfectly safe, a beautiful golden instant color if you find a good one, that lasts for 7 to 10 days! Much cheaper than going to a solarium and much safer!

I need tanning lotion facts?

what are the difference between different tanning lotions? Some have intensifiers, bronzers, tinglers....what is the difference between them all? what do each of them do? if anyone knows this and could help me out i would greatly apprieciate it because i'm clueless on these facts! thanks
I need tanning lotion facts?
Body bronzing allows people to get that great tan and keep it for exactly as long as they want. You can reapply it every morning if you want. There is no sun involved as you are basically just rubbing in a tan (that has a sun block built in). It is instant and very effective.

A bronzing lotion is going to make you tan immediately. The tan will not fade until you wash it off. Because it is a lotion, you can spread it evenly over your body to get a consistent tan.

The most effective purpose for this mist is indoor tanning. It has remarkable abilities to bring out a dark and rich tan through tanning beds. Tanning beds are known to give you an orange glow as opposed to a dark tan. The mist will help eliminate the orange and make you golden brown.

Some people find it easier to get a completely even tan by using a tanning spray. This is be cause the spray spreads out over your skin during application. Another benefit to the spray is that you can get to places on your body that you would not be able to reach with a lotion. It does not have the moisturizing affects, but it has clear benefits.

The most recent entry into the sunless tanning market is the tanning pill. It is a completely safe and natural way to get yourself tan from the inside. It works by dying the top layer of fat a dark brown. This shows through your skin, giving it that tan look even though your skin is not affected.

If you are interested in sunless tanning products, you should do some research to see which one's will work the best for you. But don't put too much time or effort into it because they are harmless. If you don't like one product, move onto the next without worrying. They are all fairly inexpensive which means that if you don't like a product, you did not just put a large investment into it.

Good luck getting that golden tan you desire! Hope this helped!
I need tanning lotion facts?
some of them lighten and darken your skin tone others help your skin some are pretty much sunblock

Less oily when i go tanning..?

I know that your skin usually is oily due to lack of moisture, so why is it that when I go tanning my skin seems to be less oily. I thought maybe it would be because it helps dry the oil, but if the theory is correct tanning dries out your skin which only cause your skin to become more greasy.
Less oily when i go tanning..?
It's because you are FRYING your skin. Why do you want to get skin cancer and become wrinkly early in life?
Less oily when i go tanning..?
You should apply moisturizing and anti-aging lotion every morning and night. That way at least you can help your skin a little while it is being tanned.

Hope I helped!
Reply:I started tanning recently and was wondering the same thing! My skin doesnt feel oily or greasy at all but I have started to get acne on my back.I think its because it clogs up your pores because it completely dries your skin up.

Loreal self-tanning dry mist?

has anyone tried the new loreal sublime bronze self-tanning dry mist? is it any good?
Loreal self-tanning dry mist?
Looks like I'm one of the few that have used it, along with every other product on the market!!!

It's prob the best one out of what the high street has to offer. As long as you hold the can at a distance while spraying from side to side to get a even distribution you will be fine.

I'm not that fair myself but I noticed they do one for fairer skin types.

If you don't mind spending a bit more than I recommend "Krometan" which you can buy on line only from "www.krometan.com" This is one of those cases you get what you pay for so my advise is spend few more quid so it at least looks like it should.

Anyway hope this has been of some assistance to you :-)
Loreal self-tanning dry mist?

What causes the odor from tanning salons?

What causes the body odor when a person goes to a tanning salon? I don't use any lotion and even if I shower ahead of time I smell nasty when I am done tanning. Could it be the cleaning solution they use on the beds?
What causes the odor from tanning salons?
I just smell like burned (toasted) coconuts afterwards...
What causes the odor from tanning salons?
sweat, and also probly what they use to spray it with. we all stink after. thats why they usually provide spray for afterwards. and a nice little candy! lol but yeah its a stinky process! lol but its sexy isnt it;)
Reply:Crotch Sweat
Reply:i think its the smell of your flesh burning- ugh!!
Reply:it could be a chemical in your tanning lotion. i like this stuff call get down brown it has a citrus smell and i think that that is about the best smell of a tanning lotion after smell that i have ever smelled. and i tan alot!!! so i have used a few different kinds of smells.

Reptile 100w UV bulb for tanning?

I have a skin condition that kind of heals when its in the sun so I want a small tanning lamp for this winter. Will a 100w reptile bulb do anything? I dont necissarilly need a tan, just SUN.

Will the bulbs fit into any regular lamp??

I found one its Powersun brand, if that helps.
Reptile 100w UV bulb for tanning?
I don't know if I would do that, but as far as a fixture...

For 100 watt bulbs for my reptiles, I always use a ceramic fixture. A GOOD one costs anywhere from $20-40.

Oil for tanning?

i'm not talking about the specific stuff you get from the store for tanning. i'm talking about using olive oil or something like that. has anyone ever heard of using that? if so, why and does it work? also how?
Oil for tanning?
I used to use baby oil and boy does it speed up the process. Works great if you really want a quick tan. I try not to get too much sun anymore because the older you get, the more cautious you get.
Oil for tanning?
if you use some thing like olive oil you are going to get a bad burn not a good idea
Reply:I use baby oil with iodine in it.It really works great.I have herd you can use a can of coke. But that would be nasty.Ants will eat you and the sticky is nasty.

Im going tanning?

i need to go tanning for my prom but im not sure what i should do. i have a gift certificate to mac med spa, so imgoing to go there....there are a few choices of what to do but im not sure which to choose. help
Im going tanning?
it takes 10 times to get your base tan, you have to start out with like 5 minutes so you dont burn and each time work up a minute more, you should tan every other day for best results, good luck and stay moisturised and use tanning lotion in the bed aswell, one with a bronzer will make you look darker faster, cafe bronzer is a good one to use
Im going tanning?
Is it spray tan or the other. I suggest tanning bed because spray tans make you orange. Since it is your first time I would go in for a minimal amount of time and than increase as you go or else you will burn.
Reply:I'm not really sure what your asking here, but if your asking whether or not to go tanning, I say go for it, most teens do.
Reply:What do you mean what should you do?? Just get a basic tanning bed, they'll try to put you in anupgraded or mega bed so you spend moreof your gift certificate $. But some indoor tanning lotion (goggles usually come wih it) from Wal- MArt and than go tan!!!
Reply:Usually they have 3 or so different levels of beds. Level one is the cheepest but you're more likely to burn. Level 2 costs a little more but you're less likely to burn and level 3 definetly isn't cheep but you're almost guarenteed not to burn.

It depends on your skin tone and how easily you burn. The people that work there can help you figure out what tanning bed is good for you and how long you should tan for. Remember they get these types of questions all day. If you need to get tan quick then I'd recomend getting some tanning lotion there, it helps alot.
