I am going to get a month unlimited package for a tanning bed before my wedding on October 19th.
How dark should I get, and what is your experience with doing this???
Tanning Bed Before Wedding Questions???
Hmm, if I were you I would plan out a tanning schedule. After the first time you go, you should probably wait about 4 or 5 days, especially if you get a little pink. After the second time wait 3-4 days, and the third time wait 2 or 3 days. But if you get badly burnt you probably want to spend the month rubbing aloe vera on you and getting a spray tan a few days before the wedding.
Tanning Bed Before Wedding Questions???
You only going to get to a point where you can't get much darker. Going once a week you should be fine.
Reply:Get your tan done about 2 weeks before your wedding day, cause if you get too fried or whatever then you wont have to look like a lobster in a wedding dress.
Reply:I quit tanning at the beginning of this year when I became more health conscious but WEDDINGS are different lol and I plan on doing this for mine as well. However, weddings photos should be kept as pure and as natural as possible. So you want to get tan enough that it gives you a healthy glow and evens out skin tone, NOT tan enough that you wont look very much like you when you look back on your wedding photos.
If you are fair skinned and do not tan regularly then you will need to tan every day for the first week, for very short amounts of time. Because you want to gain a base tan slowly so that you do not burn or cause damage to your skin. After that week then you will be able to choose different tanning beds (for example, if you want to choose a stand up bed, or a 30 minute compression where you get to lay down on a mattress!).
Allow your fiance and friends to give you their judgement on when you are dark enough, just keep in mind that it will be easy to apply brozers or shimmers on you when you do your makeup at the wedding if you need an extra glow or color, but impossible to get rid of the tan so dont overdo it.
Now, just a couple of tips from my experience
1. Dont let them rush you when you are applying lotion. A lot of times they will have the bed set to turn on in exactly 3-5 minutes after they tell you to start walking to your tanning room. By the time I get there and remove clothes and jewelry or what not, I dont have that much time. And since you are tanning for a wedding then it is worth having that extra time to lavishly and evenly spread out the lotion....so just tell them that you need plenty of time so therefore could they add on some minutes. You can also apply before you get there, but that gets my clothes smelly, depending on the lotion. However, I do recommend that you get someone to help you apply lotion on your upper back area before you get there, that way you dont have to try and reach back that far.
2. Try the stand up beds. They are fun, because you get to listen to music and move around. (in the horizontal beds you have to lay there in your own stickyness/sweat for a while). You also get to move or dance around in the stand up....which is actually recommended since it will give you a more even tan. My tanning salon always recommended that we switch back and forth between vertical and horizontals.
OH AND if you have them....I recommend Sunday's Tanning Salons......(Blue Box) if possible. They are the best around here.
GOOD LUCK.....Weddings are freaking awesome!
