Your solution could be to simply avoid applying it on your knees and or elbows, as those areas are naturally darker than the rest of our bodies.

Simply apply an even coat over your entire body, and avoid those areas like your knees that are darker than the rest of your skin.

Jergen's makes a moisturizer that has a subtle sunnless tanner in it and it is mistake proof. It is called Natural Glow. Developes slowly over a few days. I love it.
Reply:where it looks to "thick" exfoliate and use a lemon slice. i like the spray on stuff. i dont like lotions because after first application the skin doesnt let it absorb anymore
Reply:The secret is to exfoliate the skin first. Knees %26amp; elbows are spots where the skin tends to be particularly rough. You must exfolliate these areas really well before applying any sun tanning products. For best results wear gloves and apply self-tanners evenly.
Reply:Example: try applying it to the area around the knee and then spreading it to the knee..

Goodluck
Reply:When applying self-tanner; make sure your skin is exfoliated and extremely moisturized.

Also don't apply on elbows-knees and ankles, the skin is too thick and dry in these areas.

You should mix the self tanner with a lotion to lighten up the color on the more difficult areas.
Reply:I would recommend not even using them. I tried using Dove because I didnt have a car, and everyone asked where I got my tan from. But close up, i had your problem. after 2 weeks, i scrubbed it all off. And i went to a tanning booth. i dont regret it.

Don't forget to ALWAYS wash your hands if you are going to continue using it. The webs of your hands ( inbetween fingers) will become very ugly and orange.
Reply:I might have read that if you blend it with regular moisturizer it is more moderate If you like you could go ultra craftsperson n make a third part lotion then apply three times
