It seems like I can get cooked %26amp; peel in the sun however in the tanning salon this doesn't happen
Are tanning beds safer than laying in the sun?
You feel cooked and peel because you've been out too long. It's never good to stay out in the sun for long periods of time because the burn you get is actually damaged skin trying to repair itself. Tanning outside isn't as bad for you as they say, as long as you don't start out light like a blank canvas and end up dark like a prune and leathery. Sunlight is good for you if you take it in moderation. As far as tanning beds go, the same thing can happed if you use them too much. My mother-in-law laid in one for years and wound up having to take medication for a skin condition she developed from it. Then again, some people use them all the time and never have any problems. I guess I'm just trying to say don't overdo it. Use either the sun or the bed to just get a little tan and then back off for a while. Sorry if this wasn't helpful enough.

Both are equally damaging in their own ways.
Natural cooking in the sun or chemical cooking on a bed?
I'll take small doses of sun cooking with sunscreen anyday.
Reply:Just because you don't burn in the solarium, doesn't mean the damage isn't being done.
It is just as bad if not worse because you are receiving direct UV light
Reply:have you seen final destanation 3!! you could burn alive if you use a sunbed lol! hahahahahahahaha your choice .... it would be a fun way to die thou wouldnt it!!!
Reply:Sometimes you can burn . even more in areas that are normally covered while you're on the beach. I know that having a tan makes you look cool, is it really worth your health. The only tan that won't hurt, try spraying one on, it won't burn .you. Yes to spray ons are getting a lot better than they used to be. Good luck.
Reply:No .. The sun is a natural thing we all need for life . It will detoxify your body by pulling out toxins through your pours. Tanning beds are artificial light and can damage you skin over time ,Unless u use a natural type sunscreen your risking cancer too . When the sun draws toxins out through your skin , the toxins get trapped between your skin and the sun screen . Its all about money not your health . Remeber when skin cancer wasnt so big? No tanning beds or sunscreans humm
Reply:well, to a certain extent, they both are damaging to the skin, but indoor tanning is definity much safer. you see in a tanning bed the rays you recieve are controlled, while the one's outdoor are not, and so you recieve the better rays and less harmful ones in the bed.
