First off let me say I have been a TANNING BED JUNKIE for the last 10 years but I stopped going completely when I found out I was pregnant. I am 30 weeks pregnant now and white as a ghost, I cannot wait till I can get my body back and tan again. How soon after I have the baby can I resume my tanning at a tanning salon? Will the tanning have any effects on me breastfeeding my daughter? Please serious answers only and I am aware of risks of the tanning bed, I don't need a lecture on that. Thanks in advance :)

you sound like me..i love to have color and not be all pasty and white..and i had to put a hold on tanning right now for being pregnant..i will be 33 weeks tomm..and yes you can go tanning after you have the baby ..it has no affect..when i worked at a tanning salon for 2year my boss was pregnant and still tanning and even after the baby she still tanned and breastfed..so i dont think i would worry but just consult your ob...good luck and congrats..

I really don't think that there are any waiting periods on you going to a tanning bed if you have the baby natural, i might see some concerns is you had a c-section. As for the breastfeeding part, i don't know if the tanning has any affects on it or not. Just ask you doctor at your next visit to be for sure about everything.
Reply:I don't care what you say about lectures....you're just asking for skin cancer. It's stupid for you to do that.
Reply:I would not think a tanning bed would effect anything doing with breastfeeding your child. I would say once you are able to go and do again you could start. I see no side effects that would effect the baby.
Reply:I would think you could go right away. Ask your pediatrition about it affecting your milk. My best friend is due any day and she's getting married in three months. She'll be at the tanning salon the day she gets out of the hospital.
You might have to deal with tan lines though, since you can't wear tampons right away and you have up to 6 weeks of bleeding to look forward to. They joys of motherhood!!
