Acne gets worse when tanning?
Nope----It helps for me but i use the sun
Reply:tanning beds shouldn't affect your acne issue, unless you are laying on a dirty bed. Tanning in the sun actually helps your acne by drying it out, so tanning beds could have the same effect.
Reply:from what I understand, sunlight is supposed to help clear acne. Not sure about lightbulb tans
Reply:I heard it dries it out, but I don't know for sure.

I'm also heard it's bad but I don't know why.

You could get skin cancer or gross looking skin when your older though. Ew.

But anyway good luck!

P.S. The sun is better with sunscreen
Reply:no, but too much tanning can give you skin cancer, and then you'll have acne and huge dark spots on your face
Reply:No, it actually dries it out.
Reply:Tanning is really bad for you, but it's actually an addiction so you can't help it. When you go to a tanning salon the tanning booth realises fumes that make you feel good, and if you go too much you become addicted to it. Plus, do you really want skin cancer? People who have it say they tanned at the salon and on the beach and they regret it big time. I can see how acne could be bad with tanning, tanning dries out your skin and drying out your skin only makes more oil, producing more acne.
Reply:a little bit of sun can dry your blemishes out, and when your skin is a bit more tanned, they dont show up as much. however, the sun makes you hot and sweaty, and so your pores get blocked, the heat also makes bacteria grow more. your skin gets dryed out when its sun damaged, and this will make it produce more sebum, causing more spots. acne is agravated by sun exposure. tanning is also quite bad for your skin, and your skin will attempt to heal and protect itself from the uv light, and so your spots wont heal as fast.

basically, its a bad idea to go tanning at all, but its even worse if you have acne.

dont believe what *starz* says thats complete bullsh!t.
