I live in MN and the early falls tend to be very dreary here. Consecutive days of no sun, intermintent rain for a straight week, and a quick snap from summer to fall. I am oversleeping, gaining weight, and really not in the mood to do anything recently. I am thinking about going to a tanning bed to get that warmth and light I am missing. I am originally from the east coast, where sun and warmth is a constant. Winter never started until Dec. Has anyone had any luck with using a tanning bed to help with this? Or any other tricks out there?
Will a tanning bed help with the seasonal blues?
Yes, lots of people go to the tanning bed for this same reason. It differently helps you feel better and for most beds it only takes 10 minutes.

I'm sure a tanning bed would help with seasonable blues because then you'll have a tan and you'll be able to lay in a nice warm tanning bed.. buuuut it can also help with cancer.
Reply:I think that would be a great way to help with the seasonal blues. Definitely. Give a try, if that doesn't work try a new yoga class or something active, that will definitely help with the blues.
Reply:Oh, I know someone that lives here in Seattle that is like you. Her doctor gave her kind of a lamp that she sits on for 15 minutes to give her the sunlight she is missing. Talk to your doctor, maybe he/she can help. (Sorry I didn't actually answer your question) As for the tanning bed though, I think it is a bad idea because if you go to often it will cause skin cancer.
