Tanning lotion question???

I've heard a saying that you shouldn't put anything on your skin that you wouldn't put in your body (has your skin will absorb anything). So with that said, what can I use as a safe tanning lotion instead of all the chemical stuff they have out now? Do you like Olive Oil would work? Thanks!

You shouldnt put anything on your skin that you wouldnt put in your body, but tanning lotions are far from harmful. The only reason they say that is because small amounts of what goes on your skin may be absorbed into your blood stream. The thing is, olive oil isnt going to make you tan faster or darker an may even prevent you from tanning. What I would recommend is you use a salon quality tanning lotion because they use quality products in their lotions. When you are finished tanning, rub on a moisturizer like after tan lotion or Nivea moisturizer to quench your skin. The only time i would put olive oil on my skin is after a bath because it makes your skin really soft. Try it on hair too during a shower after you shampoo and condition to leave it silky and shiny. But opt for quality tanning lotion when indoors or outdoors because its going to protect you more, fight aging, and give you that tan you go out for anyways.

Oh my goodness you would fry if you put olive or for that matter any kind of oil onto your face/body, I know that there are tanning oils but for myself I prefer lotion, you really have to take care the incidence of skin cancers are on the increase
