I went tanning and now i can't stop itching. Why?

i went tanning four times. Only for 6 and 7 minutes. When i was in the bed the last time started to feel like someone was poking me with needles on the top of my legs and my chest. It freaked me out so i got out early. After that just the top of my legs and my stomach looked red. It only stayed red for like five minutes and i don't think i was sunburned. Anyways its been two days and i am still itching like crazy. i keep thinking maybe its in my mind but i can't stop it. oh yeah, my friend who went the same day as me said she felt the needle thing too and was itchy also. except her itchiness went away like the next day. i used tanning lotion but i don't think it was that cause i didn't apply it to my back and that also itched. any suggestions to how to get rid of the itch?

even though you dont look burnt you still can be, the itching is the air getting underneath your skin and it means your probably about to peel, its the worst feeling in the world and the only thing i can say is to not use any kind of lotion cause it makes it worse

I used to have the problem with itching in the tanning bed. I started using a lotion that has a cooling factor. This soothed my itching a lot and after a while I did not itch anymore. Ask the staff at your tanning salon if they carry a lotion with a cooling factor. Report It

Reply:Could have been a dirty tanning bed. If the previous occupant used a tanning lotion with a tingle factor, and the bed wasn't properly sanitized, the lotion could have gotten on you.

More likely is the fact that you have burned your skin and it is trying to heal itself.

Try a spray tan next time, Melanoma sucks.
Reply:Just to check when was the last time you had send your bed sheet cover for wash ..?

I think you might have sensitive skin. Try getting a medical soap from the phramcy and used it for a week or two, it might help. I try it before...?
