Question about tattoos and tanning?

I am planning to get a tattoo for my birthday and just recently decided to go tanning to get needed color for an upcoming event. I only have a tanning package for 10 visits and I only go, at the most, once a week and for 10 minutes. I only plan to use those ten times, but if i were to have a tattoo and go tanning would it affect the tattoos apperance?
Question about tattoos and tanning?
yup it would fade out the tattoo, just like mine kinda did. plus if your planning on getting a tattoo do it after ur tanning sessions are done because you're really not supposed to get uv exposure on a new tattoo bc it can get infected.
Question about tattoos and tanning?
Typically, UV exposure will fade a tattoo.
Reply:yes but probably not much
Reply:cover it.
Reply:Yes it would. but you can cover the tattoo. shield it from the uv rays and you should be good to go.
Reply:Not at all. Your tattoo is permanent and will definitely not change. One of my friends has tans all the time and she has 2 tattoos and they are always the same no matter if she is tan or not!
Reply:Don't go tanning after you get a tattoo.

You aren't supposed to expose it to the sun(and i guess that would could, even if it was artificial).

Wait at least a few weeks before going tanning.
Reply:It will affect a new tattoo. If you were to wait until the tattoo was healed then you would be fine.
Reply:No It Wouldnt Unless It Was A Light Color Then It Might Be hArder To See But A Tatoo On A Tanned Body Is Hot If You Ask Me
Reply:it wopuld still show fine..youd just e a bit darker and it would give it a little tint but dont worry its fine
Reply:Tanning will fade the ink in the tattoo! The only way to protect it is to cover it up, but you obviously won't tan there.
Reply:Yes, but so insignificantly that no one could tell the difference. I also don't suggest you use a tanning bed for 2 reasons. 1 it looks fake and 2 It causes skin cancer.
Reply:Changing the color of the pigmentation of your skin will alter the percieved color, yes. Not the color of the ink, just darkening more translucent colors. Also UV isn't the best for any artificial coloring be it painted surfaces or dye in skin. It will bleach out and fade color over long periods of time, so if you spend alot of time exposed to UV, you will have to get re-inked, recolored in a few years.
Reply:well you shouldn't go that soon after tanning because it is still healing for a while (depending on how big) when its done healing and you can take the bandage off of it, just make sure you put MAJOR amounts of 45 spf sunscreen on the tatoo when you tan.
Reply:i dont know, but i would be more worried about getting skin cancer before my tattoos getting messed up.
Reply:nope tanning wont effect the tattoo, the ink goes into the bottom layers of skin. The last tattoo i got was on my entire rib cage and the day before i fell asleep in the sun and was lobster burnt, and it turned out fine, hurt a hell of a lot more when it was gettin done though.

I have a few tattos most of them are color and ive lived in vegas for the past 5 years and we are always out at the pools, even my oldest tattoo shows no sign of fadding due to tanning or being in the sun

Ive never worn sunscreen in my life
Reply:If you use a sunscreen lotion on your tattoo, let the attendant know so they can really make sure they remove it all from the bed. Imagine the next person tanning, and finding out they got only half a tan the next day? lol
Reply:yeah, tanning is such a bad idea with a tattoo! tanning causes the tattoo to fade and after you spent so much time and money into getting a piece of art on your body, that will last forever, don't you want it to look it's best?? even in the summer, when you are hitting it up on the beach you should put on a super high SPF over the tattoo so it does not fade!
Reply:Tanning will fade the colors of the tattoo over time, and I would avoid tannning until the tattoo heals completely.
Reply:if ur gonna tan, do it in the sun.if u dont that stuff might give u skin disease
Reply:no
