Is tannning in a tanning booth bad for you?

I just got a job at a tanning salon and i was wondering if it is safe to tan or if tanning in a bed is bad all together?

It is like most things, a little can be good for you especially if you have minor skin problems. Too much can be bad for you, if you over tan...like five times a week for five years you can get some skin cancers like I did. Once a week for a few months out of the year can make your skin healthy. it can be very bad for you
Reply:Most definately.. its just as dangerous as tanning in the sun.

You can still get cancer and lots of freckles/ wrinkles on you body.

If you have to live up to the tanning image at your new job just fake your tan all the time. It doesnt look as good as a real tan but at least your not destraying your insides or out :)
Reply:A tanning bed is bad altogether. Excessive exposure to ultraviolet rays is very damaging and is a major causitive factor in skin cancer. Not to mention the cosmetic damage that may be caused, early aging, thickening of the skin, etc. Basically a small amount of UV light goes a long way (for the synthesis of vitamin D), but laying in a tanning bed is way to much, I would suggest that you use some sort or sunless tanning lotion.
