How would you use tanning oil?

is it suppose to be like sunblock or would i have to apply that as well? i want to get a nice tan for the summer and for spring but i want to do it safely without the chance of getting burned or worse, skin cancer. so how does tanning oil work?
How would you use tanning oil?
VERY CAREFULLY! Using tanning oil and laying out in the sun, is like frying your skin! Literally. Please be careful.

If you are fair skinned, you would do better to use a low spf sunblock. But don't stay out in the sun for too long at a time. Give your skin some time to recover from each exposure. Over several weeks, you can build a beautiful tan that will last longer and look %26amp; feel healthier!

The last thing you want to do is burn... it doesn't look good, and ups your chance of getting skin cancer. Also, it dries out your skin and over time, your skin will look "leathery".

Take it easy and find your glow!

Go to one of those spray on tan places and always where sunscreen when you are out in the sun. Tanning oil will make you tan quicker but then you have to think of skin cancer
Reply:Some tanning oils have spf in them, and some do not. They usually don't come in spf any higher then 15. Banana boat has tanning oil that comes in a spray and goes up to spf 15.
Reply:i used tanning oil one year and layed out in the sun, and as the other person said, it really does litteraly cook you. its not very fun ether. tanning oil only helps if you really want to get tan fast, and are willing to risk getting skin cancer and burned (if it doesnt have spf) i dont know about tanning oils with spf, so i cant help u with that, but the safest way to tan would just be to wear sunscreen! believe me, you can totaly tan with it on. wear shorts and shirts when your just walking around or not sun bathing.
