What's up with the Spears family and excessive tanning?

I'm already bored with the Jamie Lynn pregnancy story. But with all the Internet traffic today about her and her mom's alledged parenting book, I can't help but notice all of the the pictures of all of them - including psycho Britney. Why are they all so tan? Not just healthy, got-a-little-sun tan; but really dark leathery, wrinkly, freckley tan. Jamie Lynn isn't anywhere near old enough to start looking that weathered. Britney looks like she's already in her 40's - but of course the booze, drugs and cigarettes probably aren't helping either. And their mom looks like a walking saddlebag. That much tanning just can't be healthy.
