i went 2 a tanning bed today (YES, i KNOW that it is bad for me, so you don't have to feel the need to tell me that i should stop going), but i just noticed that my legs are burning and i pulled up my pant legs and it looks like i have sunburn up the backs of them. also my stomach is a red tint. but it doesn't hurt.
did i just get a sunburn? will it turn to tan?
I went 2 a tanning bed today and i got burnt.?
It's a burn and burns don't fade into a tan. Skip a few days until you go back, go for less time and try a lotion like Halo by Designer Skin. It has a bronzer as well as a little SPF in it..and it works great!

yes and yes. next time use less time.
Reply:I have a great idea for ya: DON'T GO TANNING TWICE IN ONE DAY!!!
Reply:you could of had an allergic reaction to the lotion you used-or if you just shaved your legs and then put the lotion on that could also as well be what is making you itch...also if you are taking any medicines make sure you can be in UV light bc sometimes you cant and it will cause a rash. And if you have fair skin always check to see if the bulbs are new in teh tanning beds bc i made that mistake once and i normally go in for 20 minutes and i was only in the bed for 8 minuites when i felt myself burning and it was bc they had new bulbs...so just use aloe and lotion for now and when you go back try not to just lay on your back the whole time and lay on your sides as well so you dont get a white stripe down your sides
Reply:the same thing happened to me last year when I was tanning for prom. I stayed in a few extra minutes and turned red. It went away by the next day. take a cool shower and it will help your skin cool down. its probaby not a real deep burn, just superficial. Mine was.
Reply:Yes, you got burnt. Wait about 2 days before going back. Then go down 2 minutes on the time you spent today. If you were in 16 minutes, go down to 14. Gradually move back up as you get darker.
Reply:No, just don't do it again, it's not good for you and it could lead to skin cancer. That's not sunburn it's the beginning to skin cancer I know I knew someone who had it and that's how it started for them hope you learned you're lesson.
Reply:Hmmmm...I know it sounds ridiculous, but I have never had this problem!
Reply:Yes, it's not unusual on the first visit to burn. Depending upon your skin, I start at 3 or 4 minutes or I'll really burn. It should tan for you and a few days...
Reply:i have a tanning bed, its possible that you were just in to long, or it was turned up a bit to high. try turning it down a bit and using a bronzer with SPF. good luck!
