well i'm pretty pale skinned but in the summer i tan a bit... i've never tanned that easily, but i can do it. should i use a tanning bed... and if so how long should i stay in?
- p.s. please do not comment if your just going to say " tanning beds are cancerous" because i know that. and i don't plan to go to one except for a few times...
If i'm pale skinned should i use a tanning bed?
I'm not a big fan of tanning beds, becuase personally i think the tan looks fake. I prefer using sunless tanning products because they actually do work and i love the look of the tan they leave. Since you are pale, try getting one specifically for pale skin and just apply it like twice a day. Try either the neutrogena or vaseline one.
Good luck!

Definitely not a tanning bed. Get Jergens Natural Glow Face Daily Moisturizer and the Body one. You cAN GEt them at your local drugstore or the grocery store! Hope this helps! You can give me best answer!! lol
Reply:But pale is beautiful. :(
Reply:No one should, especially if you're pale. You'll probably burn before you tan in those things.
But by the way, every time you go, it raises your chance for skin cancer 200 percent, so going only a few times doesn't really solve anything.
Reply:IF YOU WANT TO TAN THEN YES! I HAD LIGHT COLORED SKIN TOO AND I WENT TANNING AND IT HELPED A LOT TO GIVE ME THAT BRONZE LOOK. SINCE I WAS NEW TO THE WHOLE THING AND DID NOT WANT TO LOOK COMPLETELY ORANGE I WENT IN FOR ABOUT 10-15 MINUTES 3 TIMES A WEEK FOR ABOUT TWO WEEKS AND THAT WAS ALL I NEEDED.
Reply:go to the salon and they'll tell u how long you should stay in. Im getting pale since its winter so i think im gonna go. Ive never gone before so im gonna ask them =]
Reply:I'm also pale skinned, i would suggest starting off with maybe 5 minutes for the first 2 sessions then increase your time by a few minutes and maybe do 8 minutes the 2 sessions after that and so on but there is a limit say about 16 minutes which you should never really do.
Reply:Pale skin is just as pretty as tan skin, but if you want a change, then go with one of those sunless tanning products.
Reply:Human beings come in various skin shades.
Have enough self-respect to accept yourself as you are.
Reply:No Because maybe that is how God wants you to be.
Reply:Being a red-head and very fair skinned, I understand where you are coming from. I can tan outside in the sun, if I go out for five minutes a day...if am I lucky, by August I have some color. I used to go tanning all the time. I started with 7 minutes and worked my way up. I was so scared of burning so I really took my time with it. DO NOT DO 12 OR 15 MINUTES THE FIRST TIME. You will burn. They will try to tell you that you WONT burn, but you will.
Start off with five or seven minutes. Do that twice. Wait a day. Go in for 8 minutes the third time.
Just a warning, though u said not to five warnings. I used to get a horrible itchy rash the first few times I used a tanning bed, because my skin is fair and it was not used to it. I MEAN REALLY ITCHY. It went away once I got some color so it may happen to you too.
Also, I stopped going to tanning salons because they did find pre-cancerous cells on me two years ago. So I stopped. I do not recommend tanning beds anymore. I couldnt post on here without warning you about that. I would have felt guilty. Sorry.
Reply:Ya, you should ask at the salon...they may even tell you mjore like 3 minutes your first few goes, and it's not going to help to just go a few times here and there, you have to keep it up.
Although the UV rays CAN cause skin cancer, it's proven that the vitamin D is as much or possibly even more beneficial than the risks. There are pros and cons...I think you'll like it because it's soooo relaxing while you're in there, just make sure you don't try to trun black or anything, as that will damage your skin...a nice colour is good enough. :) (Ok, so is pale good enough, but if you really feel it necessary, you know...)

Reply:Depends why you want a tan? Just use a spray or oil or something but only a little bit that way you don't need to worry about a bed or the sun. I love the natural skin look no matter what colour it is, if you tan a little anyway then that is probably enough without it looking overboard

I'm pale and pretty fair. I've tanned now for 2 weeks going every other day. I started at 5 minutes stayed at 5 then went to 6 and stayed at 6 two sessions. Then she raised me to 8 as long as your not burning. Now I'm up to 10 without burning. So from two weeks I worked my way up there and I'm a tan color now but not as tan as my goal is so I'll stay at 10 then go up to 12 and that's all for me. I'm just trying to get my base color that I can maintain on my own from there :) use a tanning accelerator. They're really helpful for fair skin people. It got me a gorgeous glow in a week with working my way up with those extra minutes. Hope this helped. Also ... go to a salon that WONT let you burn and they monitor your color. It helps alot because they KNOW what they're doing. Sometimes another's opinion is healthier than what your expectancy is :) ♡
